Some of my friends say the ACLU no longer defends free speech. Oh for the good old days when they defended the speech and assembly rights even of George Wallace and the Nazi Party in Skokie! Well, today the ACLU is suing the Washington Metro for refusing to post ads for, among others, Milo.
There may be legitimate questions about the legal status of the Metro and about whether it’s permissible to ban all “political” advertisements. And often I don’t agree with the ACLU. But this sort of thing is what the ACLU was made for.
